  2006 NEW RELEASES

In 2006 Quinta de Ventozelo broadened its wine range and for the first time produced both White and Rosé wines, which have been very well received by our clients.

In 2006 we introduced our Magnum DOC Reserva 2003. 2007 will see some new exciting formats as well, which we will reveal soon... In the meantime you can check our current Gifts presentations here.

  BEST OF 2006 REVIEWS & AWARDS

As you very likely know, we had some very good ratings this year, both for our Port and DOC wines. Here we present a small selection.

Port Wine Vintage 2003 Quinta de Ventozelo
Still in the flush of youth, this creamy-textured Vintage Port strikes all the right notes, from complex aromas to powerful flavors. Blackberry, plum and earth notes finish long, buttressed by supple tannins. Based on the rapid maturation of the 2001 and 2002, drink this one from 2010-2020.92

A very ripe style, with baked plum and prune aromas and flavors supported by hints of pastry crust and dried spices. Medium to full in body, with soft tannins and a long, spicy finish. 89

Tight, withdrawn, plenty to give. Soft and fleshy. Ripe tannins with an explosive finish. Very good.

DOC Douro Red Wine Cister da Ribeira 2003
Interesting style, crisp and refined. Bright cherry and red berrry flavours, with spicy notes and plenty of structure. A finish of bittersweet chocolate. Drink now through 2010.88.

  2006 COMMERCIAL SUMMARY

"Our commercial team worked a lot this year to promote the brand Quinta de Ventozelo, and this year we reached the 20-countries mark. A lot of effort has been done both on our side and on our collaborators' to make Quinta de Ventozelo a wine you can find in many of the best points of sale in an important part of the world, including shops and restaurants. These efforts have gone hand in hand with very good reviews in wine magazines. In 2007 we will attend Vinexpo, Vinitaly and London's Wine Show, among others, as well as doing field visits to the markets we are working with, and of course, we will work hard to open further markets. We would like to sincerely thank you for your trust in our products, and we promise to keep on delivering high quality wines, and some pleasant surprises in the coming year.
We are very grateful that everyone's work at the Quinta has been rewarded with your trust.
And...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"
