  2007 HARVEST REPORT

"This year's harvest has been delayed two weeks. We only started it the 17th of September! It's been a very humid year with high temperatures during the maturation stage, a very positive situation for the phenolic maturation and tannins levels. Right now, as grapes are being picked, the maximum temperature is between 25-30ºC (77-86 Fº), something that improves the grapes maturation levels. The grape juices have a very good acid-sugar balance and high levels of polyphenols. As per quantities, we expect to harvest 800 tons of grapes. It's still a bit too early to say for certain, but the quality of the juices we're getting makes us think 2007 is going to be an exceptional year."

  SUCCESS OF OUR NEW GIFT PRESENTATIONS

In our May newsletter we introduced our new gift presentations. Since then, members of our team have been travelling around making presentations, and we have been very pleased with the impressions our gift sets caused. At least the following retailers are already stocking them or will be very soon: Selfridges Department Store in London's Oxford Street, Total Wine & More stores (US), and Henri Bloem's wine shops (Holland).

  NEW VINTAGES

Dear friend,
After a lot of work, we are extremely pleased to announce the following wine releases:

Red Wine Quinta de Ventozelo 2004
Single Varietals 2004: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.

And here's what our winemaker says of the 2004 vintage:
"2004 was a dry and hot year, with low and irregular rainfall levels. Production levels were higher than average for the region but lower than the previous year. In spite of being a dry year, the vegetative state of the plants was very good. Rains in August and dry conditions in September created the conditions for a significant evolution of sugar levels in the grapes. As a result our 2004 wines are among the most impressive we've ever produced."

Red Wine Touriga Nacional 2004 Quinta de Ventozelo
Touriga taken to saturated ripeness, this develops a range of unusual aromas, from blueberry jam and tobacco to violets and ginger. It's a big, tannic, smoky wine for brisket.88
